September 2023 is the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the United States Naval Academy's Nimitz Library. Since 1973, the library and its staff have proven to be adaptable and flexible in meeting the needs of the Naval Academy community - specifically the changing needs of 20th- and 21st-century midshipmen. Today, Nimitz plays a core role in meeting the USNA mission, providing services, collections, and spaces that support the mental development of midshipmen.
